Many pests primarily live and breed outdoors. For this reason, the source of an infestation is almost always from the outside. However,
Our Termite Treatment Services Division uses the latest available technology to affect the best possible service for Mack’s Customers. We offer Residential and Commercial Termite Treatment Services throughout West and Middle Tennessee.
A) Termidor™ – A “conventional” liquid treatment option for control of subterranean termites that has proven 100% effective when applied at label rates. Termidor eliminates the termite colony in as few as six to twelve weeks, with virtually no mammalian toxicity (people and our pets). Other liquid treatments are repellants and have proven to be less effective.
B) When requested, Mack Pest Control, Inc. can install Exterra™ Termite Bait Stations. These units are recommended where conventional liquid treatment may be prohibited by the label. A property with a water source in close proximity is an example of a situation where termite bait stations could be utilized.
C) Moisture Control is essential in all phases of pest control as excessive moisture can lead to serious problems. Structural insecurities can occur due to wood decay fungus (wood rot) and has been documented to cause approximately one billion dollars in damage in the U.S. each year. Insect pest infestations, such as crickets, ants, roaches, etc. thrive in these damp areas. Moisture control must be applied to aid in the reduction of these pests. Mack Pest Control, Inc. offers a free inspection and evaluation of these situations. This will include recommendations to the homeowner about redirecting downspouts, cleaning gutters, and eliminating low points next to the foundation. Services that Mack Pest Control, Inc. provides include polyethylene ground covers, which serve as a moisture barrier. This 6 ml sheeting is used to cover approximately 80% of exposed soil in crawl spaces.
TempVent™ Automatic Foundation Vents are recommended on almost all crawl space homes as it is virtually impossible to hand regulate your foundation vents in the Mid South. Average winter temperatures range from a high in the 60’s to a low in the 30’s, which mean theoretically you would have to open and close your vents manually every day! Temp Vents control ventilation under your home with a built in thermostat (no electricity required). So, whether you are at home or away, your house is provided with the proper ventilation to ensure the crawl space is a dry as possible.
D) In severe moisture situations, it may be necessary to apply a borate treatment to wood that has excessive fungus growth. However, eliminating the moisture source, whether it be a leak, foundation seepage, poor ventilation, etc. is the ultimate solution to moisture problems.
E) Mack Pest Control, Inc. also offers installation of replacement access doors for crawl spaces and vent wells where the vents are actually located at or below the exterior grade.
